We have a toddler, and older children, and on family night we eat dinner and snacks while we watch movies in the living room The problem is, our TV is in the living room, which is carpeted The other problem is that we have a rental So, we decided to purchase a steamcleaner The Bissel 9500 Proheat 2x Cleanshot Deep Cleaner is what we chose to purchase. The machine is still functioning after many years, but that's probably because most times now I just spot clean - this machine is too much of a hassel! I'm always hurting my toes on this thing! Horrible for folks with a bad elbow or wrist!
I hate that this machine is so heavy that's even before you fill it with the cleaner and the water. Not much too this machine other than, throw down water - attempt to suck water up, refill, dump and repeat. I felt this machine failed on this! My carpets were left sloshy! It takes forever for my carpets to dry. It seems like you're constantly refilling the water and emtying the water. There's not a whole lot of maintenance, other than cleaning your water out - and that is a pain. This machine is very heavy, so it takes a lot of effort to maneuver it - great work out if that's what you're looking for. **Bissell Upright Steam Cleaner**: not a fan! :-(
And with that my carpets instead of feeling sloshy and wet ended up feeling crunchy (not soft). We had to set up several fans in the living room just to dry it quicker. The other thing I can't stand about this carpet cleaner is that the suction does NOT adequately suck up all of the water that it let's loose, so you're left with very wet carpets, even if you follow the instructions and don't make several passes - just can't pull the wetness back up into the machine. This is quite the heavy machine, so I always make my husband use our **Bissell Upright Steam Cleaner **because I frankly get to frustrated with it.

Plus instructions say to not go over areas twice, so if it doesn't clean it up on the first pass you're out of luck unless you want a super soaker. Which if you have a big room it takes forever to clean just that one room. So free is good, but this steam cleaner: not! Maybe I just got a bum machine? But here is my experience: the best thing that this **Bissell 9500 Upright Steam Cleaner **has going for it is the heat it puts out, I think it does help to clean well, but because it has two separate containers for water (1 for dirty and 1 for clean) you have to stop and refill and empty OFTEN. So we got our** Bissell 9500 Upright Steam Cleaner **as a gift from my mom for Christmas.
